Bronx Orthopedics

Orthopedics at Boulevard Medical Healthcare

Orthopedics is the medical specialty that involves the treatment of the musculoskeletal system, made up of your body’s bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles.

An orthopedist, also known as an orthopedic surgeon, is a physician who corrects congenital or functional abnormalities of the bones with surgery, casting, and bracing. They also treat injuries to the bones.

Our treatment goal is to keep you mobile and pain-free. In doing so, it allows you to continue your normal daily activities and maintain your quality of life.

Our Bronx orthopedists at Boulevard Medical Healthcare provide:

General Orthopedics – (i.e. arthroscopy, fusion, partial/total joint replacement)

Trigger Point Injections – An injection administered to render a muscular trigger point inactive. Once the nerve endings are no longer irritated and the pain has subsided, further therapeutic measures can be employed.

Guided Ultrasound Injections – Ultrasound imaging is used when administering trigger point injections to allow for greater accuracy in locating triggers in soft tissue. Ultrasound offers advantages over other imaging techniques because it’s more portable and doesn’t use radiation.
